	POLELE
Last week I had the pleasure of sharing a very delicious breakfast with an inspiring group of changemakers across industries to celebrate the launch of POLELE, a new strategic communications agency founded by Viya Nsumbu.I worked closely with Viya to create a Brand Identity that would stay true to its name and the individuality of its founder. POLELE means clarity, clear and transparent in Lingala, one of the many languages spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This reflects the essence of the work that Viya has been doing, formally and informally, over the past fifteen years. In an increasingly noisy world, clarity is rare. Yet it is the very thing leaders and organisations need most.
I brought the name to life using the concept of ‘Clarity on the Horizon’ which you can see woven through all of the outputs in the brand identity. 
Viya also wanted a brand identity that could speak to varying sectors – some of which are quite corporate. While staying true to her bold, colourful and energetic self. By incorporating POLELE’s take on a Yves Klein blue alongside the typeface Champ by the very talented Typeverything I think I might have cracked it.

	&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; “Working with Pete on POLELE’s visual identity was a genuine pleasure. He delivered something far beyond what I could have imagined, capturing the perfect balance of professionalism and personality. Pete worked closely with the Isle of Man Government to rename the raceway that Sir Mark Cavendish first raced and to help encourage the next generation of riders to follow in his tyre tracks.

Pete delivered everything from concepts through to finished designs from the embroided logo caps to the 9.5m x 30m thermoplastic floor mural and everything inbetween.– Brand Identity– Naming– Youth Workshops– Print Production– Local Authority

	VOR
While working at Brick, Pete was the lead designed that helped to name and brand this AI Engine created by personal trainers for personal trainers. 
VOR (the norse goddess of wisdom) was chosen because it was simple, clear and memorable and also references the company’s Swedish tech roots.

He developed&#38;nbsp; the ‘Adaptive O’ device to visually marry together the world’s of the gym and the scientific theory behind their product - and showcase VOR’s ability to adapt its product to the unique needs of its clients.

Briefs don’t get much better than ‘Design a logo that young people want to wear on a t-shirt’. Pete created this design in 2015 but is still going strong with over 1000 young members wearing the design at weekly workshops throughout London. The brand was given a lick of orange in 2023 to launch the Netherlands arm of this successful project.
